Renee C. Y. Ong
Christian writer, mother, and storyteller — Renee C. Y. Ong is passionate about words and the Word. Her writing is shaped by a lifelong journey of faith, motherhood, and movement across cultures. Born and raised in multicultural Singapore, Renee and her family took a huge leap of faith and moved to New Zealand when her son was two years old, armed with just their suitcases. She sank deep roots in the country over the course of fifteen years. She is currently back on Singapore soil and lives in the west part of the island.
Her writing reflects a deep love for Jesus and a desire to explore the hard but beautiful questions of life and belief. Through Beth — her fictional daughter and literary alter ego — Renee explores themes of identity, belonging, forgiveness, and what it means to hold onto faith in a fractured world. Beth’s journey is tender, real, and laced with the kind of hope that only comes from having been lost and found.
Renee writes with an eye for everyday holiness — moments of revelation in the middle of laundry, heartbreak, doubt, and joy. Whether she’s crafting a fictional scene, penning a devotional, or reflecting on family and faith, Renee seeks to write in a way that draws readers closer to grace and to God.
She believes words can be both a balm and a bridge — and her prayer is that her stories will gently open hearts and make space for healing, questions, and wonder.
